
Following the reawakening of the Bahrag and the Bohrok swarms, the island was cleansed and reverted back to its former barren state. When the Matoran departed, the island was believed to be inhabited only by Rahi. Mata Nui became the home of the Matoran of Metru Nui after the city was damaged, although they have since returned to their former homeland. It was made up of six different Wahi, along with the Kumu Islets, which were never colonized and don’t truly belong to any Wahi.

It was the “roof” of the dome that houses Metru Nui, and Mata Nui was directly above the City of Legends.

Mata Nui was a large island, measuring 357 kio (303.75 miles / 486 Km) in length and 178 kio (151.3 miles / 285 Km) wide, located in the center of an Endless Ocean.
